For 2027 Residency

Open 1 March 2026

How to Apply

Applications are considered on the basis of character, strong academic record, suitability for community living, level of extra-curricular involvement and interview, if offered. We seek to admit as broad a range of students from as wide a variety of backgrounds and interests as possible.

Interested students should complete the Application Form below and pay the Application Fee. You will need to attach a recent photograph of yourself and arrange for a reference to be sent. For school-leavers, the reference should be completed by a senior member of your school’s academic staff.

Should you be offered an interview, you will be invited to meet with a senior member of staff at the College. A Teams interview can be arranged for candidates who live outside Sydney. It is advisable to lodge your application well in advance of the closing date for applications during the year preceding entry.

Offers of places are made conditional upon you gaining entry to your desired degree course. St Paul’s has traditionally been a college ‘of and within the University of Sydney’. Applications from students intending to study at another university would only be considered in the case of exceptional rural or regional students and where the course of study proposed is not offered at the University of Sydney.

Bursaries & Scholarships

Each year the College awards a significant number of scholarships and bursaries with a range in value. Bursaries (offering a 25% to 75% reduction in fees) are awarded on the basis of financial need and applicants are required to demonstrate that, without a bursary, they would be unable to afford all the fees. (Note: Parents’ capacity to pay is taken into account.)

All bursaries are awarded for 12 months in the first instance and recipients must reapply each year for renewal, which is subject to good academic progress, satisfactory conduct and contribution to the life of the College. More information regarding scholarships will be available shortly.

All bursary applications must be received by 5 September. Please note: applications may be sent either together with the admission application, or separately.
