Matthew Newcombe
Dean of Undergraduates
Mr Matthew Newcombe BEcon (Hons) BCom (UQ), JD (Syd) is the Dean of Undergraduates at St Paul’s College.
Matthew has a background in law, having previously worked as Tipstaff to the Hon Justice Francois Kunc of the Supreme Court of New South Wales.
As Dean of Undergraduates, Matthew oversees undergraduate life, responsible for student welfare, pastoral care, and discipline.
In addition to his duties as Dean, Matthew will be completing an MSt in History at the University of Cambridge under the supervision of Prof John Dunn, commencing in October 2026. His dissertation will focus on John Locke’s Two Treatises as an intervention in late Stuart politics.
