Sports at St Paul's College

Sport has been integral to life at St Paul’s College since its earliest days, shaping a culture of teamwork and participation across the College community.

Paul’s is renowned for its sporting prowess and the large attendance and enthusiastic support given by its members at intercollegiate and social fixtures. Internal social matches – including the time-honoured tradition of ‘Tip’ (touch football) before Formal Dinner – also take a valued place in the College’s weekly rhythm.

INTERCOLLEGIATE COMPETITION

Rosebowl & Rawson Cup

The intercollegiate competitions are the sporting heartbeat of college life at the University of Sydney. Across the academic year, men compete for the Rawson Cup and women for the Rosebowl, with colleges facing off across eight sports — cricket, rowing, swimming, rugby, soccer, basketball, tennis and athletics — points accumulating after each event until the final standings are settled.

With eight sports spread across both semesters, the competition runs deep into the academic year
and draws the whole College out to support.
