The annual Intercollegiate Sports Competition has been providing residents of St Andrew’s, St Paul’s, Sancta Sophia, St John’s, Wesley and The Women’s Colleges with opportunities to represent their college in various sporting events for over a century.

The Rawson Cup was presented in 1906 to the Sydney University Sports Union by Admiral Sir Harry Rawson, GCB GCMG (Governor of NSW 1902 – 1909) for Intercollegiate competition between the men’s colleges and today for the male intercollegiate sports of Athletics, Basketball, Cricket, Rowing, Rugby, Soccer, Swimming and Tennis,.‍

This year the competition was tough with Andrew’s in the lead in Semester 1 winning Cricket, Swimming and Rowing. Paul’s closed the gap winning Rugby and Soccer then reached equal first with Andrew’s after winning Tennis. The final event was Athletics on 11 October and Paul’s won narrowly from Andrew’s on point score becoming the outright Winner of the Rawson Cup for 2017.
