Saturday 4 April, 2:30pm – College Chapel
After many months of refurbishment the College’s pipe organ is ready for normal duties supporting services of worship and concerts in the College Chapel.
Please join us for the opening recital with internationally acclaimed concert organist David Drury. David is the Director of Music at the College and has led our musical programme since his appointment in 1992. David is joined by John Foster (trumpet) and Elise Morton (soprano).
The programme will include well known pieces by JS Bach, Charpentier, Moreau, Peeters, Handel, Vivaldi, Buxtehude, Erbach and Karg-Elert.
The recital will be followed by afternoon tea.
Exit by donation in support of the College’s Chapel Music Fund.
During the recital the Chaplain will re-dedicate the organ and we will be recognising the very generous support of the Albert Family, the original donors of the organ. It was brought out from Zaandam, The Netherlands where it was built in 1971 and installed in St Paul’s College Chapel in 1972, thanks to the generosity of Sir Alexis Albert (in College 1926-28). In the spirit of the enduring benefaction of the Albert family his son, Robert (in College 1953-56), funded the 2019/20 refurbishment of the organ.
