Thanks for the goodwill and support

Dear Paulines and Friends of the College,

The dinner to pay tribute to our tenth Warden, held last Monday, was a wonderful celebration of Ivan Head’s time as Warden since 1995. All those present enjoyed memorable speeches, entertaining musical tributes and a deep sense of respect and gratitude for all Ivan and Christine have contributed to St Paul’s and its men during the past 23 years.

On behalf of the College Council, I was delighted to announce at the end of the dinner that the new ‘West Wing’ building on the north-western corner of the College will bear the ‘Head’ name in honour of Ivan and Christine’s immense contribution to St Paul’s.

The ‘Head’ building for 106 residents will open in stages in the first half of 2018. It will be augmented by the new Graduate House, opening in late 2018, and new state-of-the-art amenities such as a study centre, music rooms, archives space and gymnasium.

Ivan has written the attached letter asking the College community to support his successor, Dr Don Markwell, and also requesting essential financial support for the ‘Head’ building, the Graduate House and to help achieve the new and larger aims for the College.

The Warden’s Letter

We invite you to respond positively to Ivan’s request, to help make an enduring tribute in his honour.
