On Friday 29 October The College Vice Warden, Geoff Lovell, gave the Occasional Address at the Engineering Graduation Ceremony in the Great Hall.
There is a very strong connection between St Paul’s and the University through the academic staff of the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology and current and former students. The College has 32 undergraduate and postgraduate residents studying in the Faculty in 2017 which is 15% of the College. Throughout the College’s history many residents have graduated in Engineering. Geoff Lovell graduated BE(Hons) in 1989 and went on to study at Oxford. A former Sub-Warden of the College, Alan Moore (2004), received his PhD for a thesis titled “Dynamic Characteristics and Wind-induced Response of a Tall Building” during the ceremony.
