Experienced educator Carrol Evans appointed Registrar

St Paul’s College is delighted to announce that an experienced educator and educational administrator, Ms Carrol Evans, has been appointed as Registrar of the College, beginning in January 2019.

Ms Evans joins the College following a long and successful career in secondary education, principally at SCEGGS Darlinghurst, including for fifteen years as Registrar there.

The College Registrar is a senior member of the administrative team of the College, being responsible for the admission of students and administration of the College’s scholarship and bursary programmes, amongst other aspects of support for students and the College’s academic programme. The College Registrar is often the first point of contact for students applying to the College, and works closely with the Senior Tutor and the Dean of Graduate House.

Ms Evans’ leadership in education administration has most recently included serving as Director of Administration and Operations at SCEGGS with oversight of the day to day running of the school. Her career at SCEGGS has also included responsibility for the co-ordination of communications and community education, and the modernisation of the SCEGGS applications process, as well as numerous outreach and events projects.

Ms Evans has an academic background in History and English, holding a BA from the University of Sydney with majors in History and English as well as an MA in History. Ms Evans also holds teaching qualifications including a Diploma of Education from the University of Sydney and a Diploma of Education (Teacher Librarianship) from Charles Sturt University. Her career in educational administration and leadership follows experience as an English and History teacher.

The appointment of a new College Registrar comes as the College has entered a new era in 2018. The expansion of the College, as enabled by the completion of the Ivan Head Building and Graduate House, will bring 100 new undergraduate students and 140 women and men postgraduates to the St Paul’s community in 2019. The College is excited to welcome Ms Evans to St Paul’s during this exciting period of growth.

The College is also deeply grateful to the outgoing Acting Registrar, Ms Lauren Terry, a Law graduate who has joined us from England for much of 2018. Ms Terry will return to England to pursue further studies after a period of travel around Australia.
