DESCRIPTION:The Annual Anzac Commemoration Service at St Paul’s College is held in the Chapel on Friday 25 April at 10.00 am. Priority is given to students to attend but we welcome old Paulines\, friends and families. Those attending are asked to wear ‘jacket and tie’ (or equivalent) and may wear medals\, and serving members are encouraged to wear uniform. Morning tea in the Quad follows the service at approximately 11.00 am.   \n\n\n\nWreaths will be laid at the War Memorial Wall during the service.

SUMMARY:Choir Tour Farewell Fundraising Concert
DESCRIPTION:At the end of this year\, the Choir of St Paul’s College will embark on its first monumental tour of Europe. The Choir has been invited to serve as the resident choir at St Paul’s Cathedral in London\, Westminster Abbey\, Canterbury Cathedral\, and York Minster\, as well as to present public concerts at Saint-Sulpice\, La Madeleine\, and Saint-Eustache in Paris. \n\n\n\nIn preparation for this tour and to fundraise to support the students in the Choir\, a Tour Farewell Concert will be held on Monday\, 16 December\, at 7 pm at St John’s Anglican Church\, Darlinghurst. The program will feature works that will be performed on the tour\, including Langlais’ Messe Solennelle and Howells’ Collegium Regale Te Deum and Jubilate. \n\n\n\nWe are delighted to invite you to this concert as we bid farewell to the Choir before they head to Europe to represent the College in some of the world’s most significant churches.

From a cooking show starring Titus Andronicus to a sports game with every monarch in history\, any audience member is sure to have an incredibly fun night! It’s a way to enjoy Shakespeare even if you never dug him in school\, and this makes it all the more brilliant. Modelled after the UK Collegiate system\, the choir consists of 30 choristers and four Lay Clerks\, many of whom live residentially at the College\, and others who study at the University of Sydney. The Choir sings Evensong every Tuesday at 5:15pm during the semester to which members of the public are welcome to attend. \n\n\n\nRegarded for its “faultless performances” (CanberraCityNews) and Sydney’s “top-notch choir” (Australian Music Trust)\, the Chapel Choir also presents large-scale concerts and operas most recently including Purcell’s ‘The Fairy Queen’\, Purcell’s ‘Dido & Aeneas’ with Sally-Anne Russell and Andrew Goodwin\, an acclaimed regional tour to the Southern Tablelands\, Buxtehude’s ‘Jesu Membra Nostri’\, Caroline Shaw’s ‘To the hands’ and Fauré’s Requiem. \n\n\n\nThe Choir regularly perform works by Australian composers as well as new commissions\, most recently works by Andrew Goodwin\, Lucy Blomfield\, David Drury\, Alice Chance and Joseph Twist. \n\n\n\nThe St Paul’s College Chapel Choir is delighted to be performing at St Swithun’s Pymble\, and looks forward to meeting members of the audience for light refreshments after the concert.
