SUMMARY:The Union Reunion - Celebrating 170 Years
DESCRIPTION:Young and old Paulines\, your partners and friends are warmly invited to join the St Paul’s College Union for a black tie dinner and dancing in celebration of the 170 years since the foundation of the College. \n\n\n\nFor many the Quad has been the backdrop to some of our most memorable nights at College—laughter echoing under the Dangar-Salisbury Cloisters\, music drifting out into the warm air\, and friendships forged that have lasted a lifetime. We look forward to gathering again\, to celebrate those old stories and the new ones still being written by the current members of Paul’s. \n\n\n\nThis event is supported by St Paul’s College Union \n\n\n\nTickets are all inclusive of three-course dinner in the Hall\, drinks and entertainment: \n\n\n\n$50 for current resident members of College | $100 for Old Paulines and your partners \n\n\n\nDress: Black Tie

SUMMARY:The Dragon of Wantley
DESCRIPTION:The Dragon of Wantley | A Comic Opera in 3 acts by John Frederick Lampe \n\n\n\nThe Muffat Collective Orchestra | the Choir of St Paul’s College (Dir. Jack Stephens) | Libretto – Henry Carey (1737)The Muffat Collective and the Choir of St Paul’s College\, the University of Sydneyare thrilled to be joining forces for The Dragon of Wantley! The Dragon of Wantley received an impressive 69 performance run in 1737; more than any opera by the celebrated Mr. Handel and holding the London stages in thrall for 45 years! Is this an opera about a dragon and an inebriated knight? Or\, is it mocking the excesses of rival Italian operas\, in production across the street? Or\, is it satirizing the first Prime Minister of England? In fact\, this rambunctious satire contains all three of these operas\, and the listener can decide which interpretation to enjoy. Joined by some of the finest early music singers in Australia and the full force of The Muffat Orchestra\, don’t miss this special opportunity to enjoy thebrilliant music and hilarious plot of The Dragon of Wantley.
