The College Cricket XI backed up its excellent performance from earlier in the week against St Johns, defeating Wesley yesterday.
Wesley got off to a slow start, however, soon found some rhythm after the first dozen innings, notching up 172 runs in total heading into the lunch break.
The Paulines came out firing at the resumption of the match, finding their rhythm easily and quickly. Freshman, Archie Cornell, was a notable performer with the bat, while convenor, Jack Attenborough, picked up where he left off against John’s and impressed with the ball.
Paul’s were able to comfortably chase down the 172 total with 8 wickets in hand.
Next Wednesday the boys take on St Andrew’s in the 2021 Rawson Cup cricket decider. Andrew’s have also had duel victories against Wesley and St John’s. Paul’s have no lack of motivation going into the match, having not beaten Andrew’s since 2016.
