With the retirement of The Rev’d Dr Ivan Head as Warden and the appointment of the first lay Head of College, Mr Antony Weiss has been appointed as Chaplain for the College for 2018.
Antony is completing the final year of the Bachelor of Divinity at Moore Theological College in 2018 and will be ordained by the Archbishop of Sydney just prior to his commencement as Chaplain to St Paul’s on Monday 19 February. In 2018 Antony will also serve as a part-time curate at Christ Church St Laurence, Railway Square.
Prior to commencing his theological studies, Antony was a long-serving Master at Shore with over two decades as a boarding housemaster, latterly as Senior Boarding Housemaster. Antony was also formerly Head of Languages at the School, teaching predominantly French and Latin. He also coached and co-ordinated Shore’s junior rowing programme for many years.
As Chaplain Antony lives at St Paul’s and conducts services in College Chapel each week during semester including the main service, Choral Evensong, each Tuesday evening as well as other significant services such as O-Week, Commencement, ANZAC Day, Academic Evensong, Valedictory Evensong and the annual Carol Service.
As importantly, Antony is available to all members of the College community for pastoral care matters.
