Together with the Warden, the Dean of Graduate House leads the academic and pastoral life of Graduate House. The Dean is responsible for building and fostering a happy and inclusive collegiate community.
Dr Antone Martinho-Truswell is the inaugural Dean. Dr Martinho-Truswell joins the College from the Department of Zoology at the University of Oxford, where he was a Fellow and member of the governing body of Magdalen College and a Lecturer in Biology at Pembroke College. Dr Martinho-Truswell’s has also served as Junior Dean of University College, Oxford, and graduate warden of St Cross College, Oxford.
Dr Martinho-Truswell’s research focuses on the brains and minds of birds. At Oxford, he co-founded the Oxford Duckling Laboratory, and his research has been published in several high-impact journals, including Science. Prior to completing his doctorate in zoology at Oxford, he graduated cum laude in Neurobiology from Harvard University.
Dr Martinho-Truswell is an avid sportsman, having played varsity Water Polo at both Oxford (Half Blue) and Harvard (Major H), and was Vice-Captain of the Oxford team. He is an unremarkable but enthusiastic cricketer.
