Congratulations to Pauline Alistair Kitchen (2011-14), on being awarded a fully funded scholarship to study at the new Schwarzman College at the Tsinghua University in Beijing for 2018.
Schwarzman Scholars are prepared to build stronger relationships between China and a rapidly changing world and to address the most pressing challenges of the 21st Century.
The list of Scholars for 2018 includes 129 young people from 30 countries & 75 universities around the world.
Alistair graduated from the University of Sydney with a Master of Arts in Philosophy and a Bachelor of Arts with Honors in English Literature. He helped author Out On the Fields, a ground-breaking report into homophobia in the sporting environment, and launched the Good Lad Initiative – a program that delivers workshops on masculinity and consent – in Australia. Before that, he led initiatives that increased access to university to students from underrepresented backgrounds. He hopes to use these experiences in social ventures to find new ways of making societies more equitable and compassionate. Alistair is 25 years old and from Australia.
